The spirit of Christmas

With Christmas just about upon us for another year, the spirit of giving is once again in the air. And what better way of giving than to share the joy of Christmas with children and families in need – the disadvantaged, the sick, the disabled.

Just a few of the activities taking place this year include:

  • Each of the Linden Homes’ regional offices collected children’s gifts during November, which have since been presented to hundreds of children across England at local children’s hostels and hospital wards.
  • L&S Waste Management held its Christmas card design competition once again for the children who attend The Rainbow Centre. The beautiful cards, featuring the winning design by nine year-old Lara Clarke, are now available from The Rainbow Centre’s website, with all proceeds going to support the tireless works of the Centre.
  • Wates Living Space has been assisting Tower Hamlets Foodbank prepare food hampers for local families. As well as collecting non-perishable food donations from leading retailers, Wates staff and contractors have helped prepare, pack and deliver the hampers to ensure as many people as possible enjoy hearty Christmas meals.
  • And Smile Support & Care is seeking donations towards its 18th Anniversary Appeal, which is raising funds for a new respite centre to support children and young people with disabilities, as well as their families.

So while enjoying the holiday season with your loved ones, please spare a thought for those families who would benefit most from some Christmas cheer and give a gift that will make a big difference.

Merry Christmas!
