Here's an introduction to the key members of the team.

Stephen Pomeroy - Director

Stephen Pomeroy

Stephen has 20 years' experience within the public affairs and communications field, specialising in political, national, and local government consultancy services and providing strategic counsel to clients on media and issues management.  Stephen's focus is on advising clients on issues essential to maximise business objectives.

He has unparalleled expertise and understanding of the issues surrounding the environment, planning and regeneration. He has worked on numerous waste management and renewable energy projects over the years.  These include promoting and securing acceptance for the Project Integra EfW development programme, government relations advice for Onyx Aurora, strategic advice and support for Viridor, strategic counsel to General Electric, government and parliamentary counsel to Energy Developments Limited

His involvement in the environmental and energy sector over the years has given him access at all levels of government and within opposition parties, and a useful stakeholder reach.

Stephen chairs the Public Relations Consultants' Association (PRCA) Property, Planning and Infrastructure Group, is a fellow of the RSA and a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Julian Isaacson - Director

Julian Isaacson

Julian has extensive knowledge and experience of the environmental and waste management industry, a significant part of which was gained as account lead for over five years for Viridor, one of the UK's top five waste management companies.   

Julian's key focus areas within the Remarkable Energy & Environment team include developing strategic marketing and digital communications programmes for clients, but he also works across all of Remarkable's service offerings by maintaining a hands-on role in working with the team to ensure that campaigns are aligned to the strategic goals of clients and maintain a high quality. 

Julian has worked on a variety of projects including developing campaigns to promote understanding of Energy from Waste, raising public waste awareness, and managing the extensive consultation programme for the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority, Europe's largest waste PFI.

Julian is a fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing.

Daniel Hayman - Public Affairs Account Director

Daniel Hayman

Daniel has been working in the environment sector since 2001 and has, in that time, gained extensive experience of working on complicated and challenging projects for clients in the waste management, telecoms, and airport sectors.

Daniel has specific experience of Energy from Waste, developing strategies and a number of papers to support EfW planning applications and public consultation exercises. As part of this, he has a detailed knowledge of the opposition groups and arguments that counter this technology, and has developed relationships with a number of academics in this field through creating effective evidence-based responses to help balance public debates.

Daniel's experience includes work with Hertfordshire County Council and Viridor.

Catherine Reid - PR Account Director

Catherine Reid

Catherine has honed her PR and communications skills over the last six years providing marketing and communications support for business to business and business to consumer clients as well as not for profit organisations including national charities, social enterprises and local authorities.

At Remarkable Group Catherine has worked across a number of waste, recycling and environmental accounts including HIPPOWASTE, Viridor and Valpak. Catherine also heads up the PR and media support for national retail chain Cash Converters, leading contact lens manufacturer CooperVision and racing, golf and leisure venue Lingfield Park in Surrey.

Catherine's wealth of experience in working with diverse forms of media provides an integrated approach to organisations looking to coordinate their PR campaigns. Working closely with waste and environmental clients at Remarkable, and in a previous agency role, with recycling and refuse organisation ECT Group, Catherine's knowledge of waste industry includes issues management, marketing campaigns and a targeted media focus.

Michelle Hamilton - PR Director

Michelle Hamilton

Michelle has worked in PR and marketing for nearly 20 years, and has been responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of successful campaigns for Aldi, BAA Retail, Subway, Cadbury Schweppes, Sun International Resorts, St Lucia Tourist Board and First Choice.

Michelle's experience in the environmental sector includes delivering an awareness building communications campaign for Waste Recycling Environmental (WREN), which distributes money from the Landfill Communities Fund of Waste Recycling Group Ltd (WRG). The campaign to raise awareness of available grants resulted in WREN reporting a 60 per cent increase in grant applications.

Jenny Walton - PR Account Director

Jenny Walton

A consummate communications professional with over 25 years experience, Jenny delivers impressive results for UK and international clients in need of corporate positioning, media and marketing communications, community consultation - often on complex technical matters - and issues management.. Sectors she has worked in include construction, IT, manufacturing industry, chemicals and petrochemicals, telecommunications, commercial and passenger transport, and waste/recycling/environment.

Jenny was a founding member of the Tory Green Initiative, and a voluntary member of the strategic group board of the Oriel Housing Group for over five years. She played a key role in developing the Viridor account at Remarkable, working across the PR, marketing and public consultation areas, and developing a keen understanding of EfW among a range of new and proven technologies.  Other waste sector accounts worked on include Vetspeed Ltd, a specialist animal wastes company, and Onyx.

Matthew Trace - PR Account Manager

Matt Trace

As an account manager within the PR team, Matthew is responsible for the day to day running of campaigns and ongoing media relations. Matthew worked as lead on media relations activity for Viridor, securing national broadcast and newspaper coverage on a range of recycling and resource management issues.

He has extensive experience working on business to business accounts across a range of industry sectors, and specialises in making complex technical stories accessible to national media and broadcast audiences.

Matthew is also a key member of Remarkable's digital PR team, with expertise in executing PR campaigns over a range of social media platforms.

Sarah Harris - Creative Senior Account Manager

Sarah HarrisSarah manages the creative requirements of several key clients, including Viridor, Valpak and Hippowaste. Having spent her career in the agency sector, Sarah is adept at managing clients' accounts in great detail, working to very tight deadlines and handling extremely complex projects.

Sarah has an excellent knowledge and understanding of the waste and environmental sectors and co-ordinates Remarkable's team of creatives and designers to create impactful communications that get results.

Caroline Zornoza - Digital Account Manager

Caroline Zornoza

As an account manager in the Digital Team, Caroline is responsible for providing consultancy on digital and new media strategies, project management of ongoing programmes, and day to day management and maintenance of completed online projects.

Caroline has specific waste expertise, having worked on the development of an educational recycling website, several viral marketing campaigns and a total re-launch of Viridor's corporate website.  This was commissioned to raise the company profile in the digital arena and to drive sales via the website. She has also project managed joint venture campaigns between waste management companies and local authorities.

Focusing on user interface design, navigation and client side development, Caroline ensures Remarkable's digital projects create a better all round user experience. She manages digital projects from the initial concepts right through to the design, build and integration to allow for a consistently sound integration and product.

Gareth Coombes-Olney MCIPR - Account Director

Gareth Coombes-Olney

Gareth is a strong all rounder with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors across a diverse range of industries. A talent for devising winning strategies and innovative campaigns, he has advised political leaders, governments, NGOs and senior business leaders, internationally and domestically. His creative and inclusive approach has enabled Gareth to succeed in some of the most sensitive areas; crisis and issues management, stakeholder engagement, science and medical communication and energy and environment.

Gareth is highly experienced in managing large scale projects with many internal and external stakeholders and understanding the complex issues that come with that. A specialist in cross cultural communication and engaging hard to reach groups he has worked on significant projects across the globe, from renewable energy, telecommunications, special economic zones and FDI to large scale cultural and sporting events and environmental projects.
