Leading Southampton based PR agency Remarkable had its very own X Factor moment when they helped organise a special meeting with the legendary Simon Cowell.
It was all part of a high profile initiative for national children's charity Dreams Come True to launch a campaign encouraging more children to be nominated to realise their dreams.
Dreams Come True fulfils the dreams of terminally and seriously ill children and the campaign, called ‘Dreams Generation', will help target children's wards and hospices UK-wide. Remarkable has been working on a regional and national campaign for the charity since April.
Cowell invited nine-year-old Felisia Cantone, who has is currently being treated at the Chase Children's Hospice near Guildford, to the X Factor rehearsals last week and to spend some time with him as part of her ultimate dream.
Cowell said: "You have literally got to put it out of your mind how children are sometimes very ill and treat them like normal, healthy kids. It breaks my heart but for this moment it's all about giving her a great time."
Felisia, who thoroughly enjoyed the meet, told Cowell. "I used to think you were a monster but you're not!"
Remarkable worked with client Dreams Come True and Cowell's publicist Max Clifford to help make the dream happen.
The Dreams Generation campaign comes in advance of the charity's 20th anniversary celebrations in 2008 as part of which the charity has set itself the goal of making 20 per cent more dreams come true during the year.
Dreams Manager at Dreams Come True, Martin Plowman, said: "Simon Cowell was fantastic and gave Felisia a day to remember. The Dreams Generation campaign is targeted at those working closely with children. It is to let them know that we are here and that we are able to make a difference. We need people to come forward so we can make more dreams come true."
Over the last 19 years the charity has fulfilled the dreams of over 3,000 children and is never surprised by requests, such as having a book published, and even waking to see cows in the back garden.
